Kohler engines are used in different riding mowers. Some of the popular brands that use Kohler engines include Dixon, Toro, Ariens, Cub Cadet, Gravely, Craftsman, Dixie Chopper, Westinghouse, and Simpson. These mowers are known for their durability and performance.
Kohler Vs. Briggs And Stratton Lawn Mower Engine
When it comes to lawnmower engines, Kohler and Briggs & Stratton are the two main competitors. Both companies make high-quality products, but some key differences exist between the two.
For example, Kohler engines slightly outperform Briggs & Stratton when it comes to longevity and durability.
Additionally, Kohler engines are more suited for various conditions and have more options for cooling mechanisms and advanced filtration.
Kohler engines are the best choice for residential choice, while Briggs & Stratton engines are for personal use. The latter is often a lot more affordable with excellent performance for the price.
Is Kohler or Kawasaki a better engine? The Kohler engine has the Smart Choke Technology, which allows it to run as smooth as butter. Given the reliability of its hydraulic lifters, I can say that Kohler is more efficient than most Kawasaki engine options.
What I Think About Kohler Engines
If you ask me the best Kohler engine, I will think before I answer you. The reason for my hesitation is because each engine from this brand offers you durability and powerful propulsion.
For example, the Command series is my best and many of the Command models have hydraulic lifters (no valve adjustments needed) and closed loop fuel injection (+/- 25% fuel savings). Under the Command is the ZT (Confidant) which is also commercial just not their very best.
However, we still have complaints about the engine. The complaints about Kohler engines include engines that are difficult to start, stop suddenly, operate erratically, backfire, and overheat. Major causes of these problems include improper fuel, dirt in the fuel line, engine overloaded, and faulty spark plug.
Finally, KOHLER Command PRO engines are legends in the industry, they come as the benchmark for commercial power. These engines can last for years to come, so you can work more and pay less. So, the engine is for durability and real power.
